This indwelling and inworking of God must come to expression in our words and deeds and radiate from our entire being. We cannot exact from God that which he does in us. If we think we have some power over this sacred process, it recedes. God’s Spirit blows where he wills.

I do find it somewhat of a miracle the changes He has made and I know for sure they’re not from me. Maybe God can’t work (or at least, is limited) until we recognise that none of it is through our own effort, whatever ‘it’ may be.
