Ministry in Silence

Charles de FoucauldJesus could have done so much good if he had evangelized people during the years of obscurity in Nazareth. But he thought that he was doing a greater good by remaining in his silence…

“Silence” for sure but also and I think just as importantly the example of an ordinary life, lived with a family and neighbors, all the growth and development that takes place during this time. There is something deeply sacred about our daily ordinary lives and Jesus wants us to understnad and live that. Of course that also involves silence and prayer and most of all love of neighbor. Its like getting a show-and -tell of the Incarnation with one exception, perhpaps with the life of the Trinity, “Silence” is the language and action of Love and so that is why little brother Charles placed such importance on that aspect of the so called hidden life of Jesus!
