Spiritual Childhood and Fragrance of the Gospel (Quotes Vol. 10)

This morning, Pope Francis published a new apostolic exhortation on the message of Thérèse of Lisieux, C’est la Confiance. The quotes posted to FacebookInstagram, and X (formerly Twitter) in the past week try to reflect this theme and lead up to it, whatever the Holy Father may have to tell us!

Help me to spread Your fragrance everywhere I go; let me preach You without preaching, not by words but by my examples, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears to You. — Saint John Henry Newman

Jesus has shown me the only way that leads to the fire of divine love: it is that of a little child who, full of trust, falls asleep in its Father’s arms. — Saint Thérèse of Lisieux

I go to Him like a little child to its mother, that he may fill, invade everything; that He may take me and carry me away in His arms. — Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity

I understood that God is love and that Love adapts itself to all forms of love. Consequently, I can become holy by means of all my little actions: a smile, a word, a look, provided that all are motivated by love. What happiness! — Marcel Văn on the message of Saint Thérèse

The holier you are, the more sociable you should be with your sisters [your neighbours]. Although you may be sorry if their conversation is not just as you would like it to be, never be aloof from them if you wish to help them and to have their love. — Saint Teresa of Avila
