In interior things, we do not arrange ourselves. We have to follow where the Spirit leads. We might cry at Christmas. We might praise on Good Friday.

So strange to experience suffering and pain and yet be lighthearted and joyful at the thought of Christ and His Passion. Perhaps it is because we know that through the Passion, death is conquered. Sin is vanquished. All that remains is His Kingdom and who can’t be joyful-in-sadness when we see this muddy glory?
