Community and Person

Father Voillaume

In the Body of Christ we are, indeed, interdependent one upon the other. But ultimately we are, nevertheless, the friends of Jesus, the brothers of Jesus, children of one Father. And we are this as persons, with all the legitimate demands that devolve from it. The Christian life must, in so far as prayer is concerned, strike a balance between liturgical life (or prayer as community) and the growth of an individual, intimate prayer, without which there can be no real Christian perfection – no growth of the spiritual life for man as a person.
René Voillaume LBJ (1905–2003)
