Today is the feast of the Presentation in the Temple (Candlemas). I love to dwell on these points; there is so much to contemplate and unite us in love to Jesus:

  • Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were Jewish
  • Jesus was called a “light of revelation for the Gentiles” and “glory for [God’s] people Israel” (Lk 2:32)

This is truly a feast where we say what makes the Church catholic: that Jesus is truly and both “light of revelation for the Gentiles” and “glory for [God’s] people Israel”.
