In the Gospel, Jesus clearly tells us that the guardian angels of children continually see the face of God. Everyone has a guardian angel. Everyone: Jews, Catholics, Christians, non-Christians, everyone. And the holy angels each see God.
The photo above is of my friend Jay. Look at his eyes, look at the lines on his face. They are constantly like this. I don’t believe it’s possible to retain any spiritual sense and not see that this boy’s face and eyes tell the truth: “Their angels see the face of my Father in heaven” (Mt 18:10).
Of course, sometimes the truth is more masked, sometimes it is more manifest. Sometimes the flesh is more transfigured, sometimes less. This doesn’t change the truth we are always and everywhere invited, by the Gospel, to see.
