We must believe that God can come find us in prayer, and we must, to obtain and welcome the grace of this visit, desire it with confidence and joy… humility of heart, not relying on ourselves, accepting the absence of feelings and consolations, accepting the austerity of this encounter with God; because, if the Holy Spirit comes to us, it will be, first of all, because we have lost ourselves from sight.
