If we take the words of Péguy, the greatest political force is mysticism. Mysticism can be degraded into politics. But when politics degrades itself and becomes tyrannical, only mysticism can oppose itself to the servitude imposed on citizens… The political role of mysticism is to be a true mysticism, because then, and only then, it knows how to read and speak the reality of political power.
