That one must do the will of God to be the Mother of Jesus: [Mary] knows it! She knows it, since the Incarnation, better than anyone in the world. But what she does not stop learning… is that the will of God is a separating will, which severs the Mother from the Son, as it will sever the Son and the Father at the agony and on the cross, and provoke some horrible whys… “Child, why have you treated us like this? Look, your father and I have been searching for you in great anxiety” (Lk 2:48). And: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mk 15:34).
