The Eucharist as sign and symbol and reality is beyond words. I’ve been having so many tired days, and circumstances have said that there has been no weekday Mass in my parish for these days. But today, early morning Mass is back! And it is (very) early, but with time in prayer at the Tabernacle and with the Sacrament received, God gives strength and alertness. It’s a vigilance, as if my heart is going on Jesus’ own humanity (mine is all but dead).
At least for today! God’s plans are beyond prediction: sometimes just hold on as the world flows by, sometimes rejoice, sometimes find silence, sometimes keep watch. That’s the lot of the Christian in the world, isn’t it?
