Today is Good Shepherd Sunday, making today also Vocations Sunday.

Being a contemplative can be misunderstood slightly at the best of times. In a world that seems to make belief in invisible things difficult, we’re not exactly in the best of times.

I’m going to offer some thoughts in the coming days on contemplative vocations: in the cloister, in a religious order but in the world, and as a layperson.
