I wai to the guard (he’s older than me);
I don’t do it well (takes practice, you see).
But the meaning is there:
The intent, want to try.
In a culture we share,
Though it’s not fully mine.
I wai to the guard (he watches this place);
Long hours, hot sun, dry (through floods, every day).
It’s not ’cause I like
To be loud, be busy.
It’s just ’cause I know
Jesus asks me to see
He’d wai to the guard (though he’s God himself),
Who’s like Jesus, too (this God came to tell).
